DUSHANBE, October 31, Asia-Plus – Since the 101st session held in April 2007, a volume of commercial transactions concluded between Tajikistan and China has increased by 63.5 percent, organizers of the 102nd session of China Import and Export Fair that ended in Guanghou on October 30 said.
According to the fair representative, a total volume of transactions concluded at the 102nd session has amounted to $37.45 billion, which is 2.9 percent more during the spring session in April this year and 10percent more than during last year’s autumn session.
The main trading partners to Chinese imports were the European Union, the United States and the Middle East.
A volume of transactions concluded by Chinese exporters with Asian countries has also increased. The volume of transactions concluded with Uzbekistan has increased by 57.4 percent and the volume of transactions concluded with Kyrgyzstan has nearly doubled (96.3 percent).
China Import and Export Fair (renowned as the Canton Fair), is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC). The 102nd session of the Canton Fair was held simultaneously in both Pazhou Complex and Liuhua Complex of China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou from October 15 to 30, 2007. In this session, the fair covered a gross exhibition area of about 640, 000 square meters.
Since the 101st session in April, 2007, the Canton Fair has set up an International Pavilion to embrace import function and invite overseas enterprises to participate as exhibitors. The Canton Fair is transformed from a unilateral platform for promoting China”s Export to a bilateral platform for promoting balanced import and export, providing overseas exporters who are interested in Chinese market with a broad platform, an opportunity to know about Chinese market better, and an opportunity to cooperate with enterprises from different industries.
