Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali has signed a decree on convocation of the next 14th session of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) on March 15, according to the Dushanbe administration press center.

Three members of Dushanbe local council, namely Ms. Shahnoz Rahmatova, Mr. Suhbon Safiulloyev and Mr. Shoh Davlatov will step down ahead of schedule.

Powers of Ms. Rahmatova will be terminated in connection with appointment of her as deputy chairperson of the Committee on Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan.

Mr. Davlatov voluntarily turns over his powers ahead of schedule in connection with leaving the country.

Meanwhile, powers of Mr. Safiulloyev, who is the head of the Communist Party organizations for Dushanbe, will be terminated ahead of schedule as he is suspected of fraud.

He has already been summoned to the anticorruption agency for questioning.  Although Mr. Safiulloyev is at liberty, an investigation has been launched into his case.

The next session of the Dushanbe legislature is expected to discuss issues related to renaming a number of streets in the Tajik capital.
