More than 100 overloaded semi-trucks stopped at Tajik-Chinese border were suddenly allowed to enter Tajikistan

Date:

More than 100 overloaded semi-trucks have been stopped at Tajik-Chinese border but they have suddenly been allowed to enter Tajikistan.

More than 100 overloaded semi-trucks have been stopped at the “Tokhtamish” terminal on the Tajik-Chinese border, according to the Ministry of Transport.

An official source at a MoT says a permissible weight of cargo carried by a semi-truck is 40 tons but “those semi-trucks were overloaded twice.”

However, the overloaded semi-trucks were allowed to enter Tajik territory yesterday.  The source refrained from saying whom those semi-trucks belong to.

The fee for exceeding the permissible weight of cargo amounts to 0.15 U.S. dollar per ton.
