Three Afghan drug traffickers have been killed and their six Tajik accomplices have been detained in special operations carried out by servicemen of the “Hamadoni” border unit (Khatlon province) during the period from July 12 to July 22, according to the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).

The report period has reportedly seen three engagements between Tajik border guards and armed drug traffickers in the area of responsibility of the Hamadoni border unit.

“Three Afghan drug traffickers were killed and their six Tajik accomplices were detained in those operations,” Muhammad Ulughkhojayev, a spokesman for the Main Border Guard Directorate, said.

According to him, nearly 119 kilograms of drugs were seized by the border guards in those operations.  A totaled reportedly included 93.8 kilograms of raw opium and 15 kilograms of heroin.

Besides,  Winchester rifle was found on the spot, Ulughkhojayev noted.
