Four killed, four others injured in head-on collision in Shamsiddin-Shohin district

Four persons were killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision that took place in the Shamsiddin-Shohin (formerly Shouroobod) district of the Khatlon province on September 3, according to the Interior Ministry’s website. 

The accident reportedly took place near the village of Doghiston afternoon, at around 3:15 pm.

The 18-yer-old resident of Khorog, Karim Miskinov, apparently lost control of his Toyota Land Cruiser and it went into oncoming traffic and crashed into Nissan Patrol, driven by the 48-year-old resident of the Shugnan district, Tohir Lutfaliyev.

As a result of the collision four passengers of those vehicles were killed and four other passengers and both driver sustained various injuries and were taken to the Shamsiddin-Shohin central district hospital. 

According to the statistical data from the Interior Ministry Traffic Police Directorate, more than 600 traffic accidents that took place in the country over the first six months of this year have left more than 170 dead and 534 others injured.

The cause the accident is under investigation.
