The Democratic Party of Tajikistan announced the disclosure of a conspiracy for the purpose of "internal coup".
Deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Tajikistan Hikmatullo Saidiyon was dismissed, another deputy leader of the party Ahmadsho Komilzoda was excluded from the ranks of the party.
They intended to remove Saidjafar Usmonzod from the post of the DPT leader, deputy of the lower house of the country's parliament.
According to a source in the DPT, Saidiyon and Komilzoda secretly gathered in the house of one of the activists, and persuaded the members of the board to refuse to participate in the meeting of the high council of the party, which was scheduled for September 30. But the conspiracy was uncovered and 13 of the 17 board members came to the high council meeting.
Meanwhile, in an interview with "AP", the leader of the DPT, Saidjafar Usmonzoda, said that his deputies were removed from their posts for passively participating in the work of the party. At the same time, he did not want to talk about his impending shift.
«Hikmatullo Saidiyon is a teacher, he passively participated in the work of the party’s political council, and Komilzoda did not take part in the work of the political council at all», – Usmonzoda said.
The Democratic Party of Tajikistan was established in 1991. His first leader was Shodmon Yusuf, who now lives in Vienna.
After signing a peace agreement in Tajikistan, the party was headed by Muhamadruzi Iskandarov. At the end of 2006, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan recognized Masud Sobirov as the new chairman of the DPT. This happened after the arrest and detention of Muhamadruzi Iskandarov.
By that time, the DPT was divided into two wings, headed by Saidjafar Usmonzoda (Ismonov) and Rakhmatullo Valiev, the deputies of the former party chairman. In 2013, the Ministry of Justice, following a monthly check and study of documents submitted by the DPT, registered a new party’s Charter and officially recognized Saidjafar Usmonzoda as party chairman.
Two years later, Saidjafar Usmonzoda was elected a member of the lower house of the Parliament of Tajikistan from the Farkhor electoral district.
According to official data, the Democratic Party of Tajikistan has about 20 thousand members.
