A new building of the Interior Ministry and the Counterterrorism Center were officially opened in Dushanbe on November 9.  The official opening ceremonies that were attended by President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali were timed to coincide with National Police Day, which is marked in Tajikistan on November 10.

The new nine-story building of the Interior Ministry is located no far from the existing building of the Ministry.  Construction of the building began in 2016.  The new building houses 118 studies, four lecture rooms and two assembly halls provided with all necessary equipment, according to the Tajik president’s official website.    

Four ministry’s directorates are expected to relocate to the new building.

The four-story building of the Center for Combating Terrorism, Extremism and Separatism is located in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district, 9th Kilometer area.  The Center is reportedly provides with all necessary state-of-the-art equipment.

The center has nine cars, one minivan and two vehicles equipped with operational facilities.  The Center also has the 8-room hotel.
