Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at 963.8 million dollars in Q1 2019

Over the first three months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan has amounted to 963.8 million U.S. dollars, which was 103.1 percent of the January-March 2018 level or 29 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance over the report period was negative and amounted to 476 million U.S. dollars.

In January-March, exports of goods reportedly have amounted to 243.8 million U.S. dollars, which was 0.3 percent or 700,000 U.S. dollars more than in the same period last year. 

Over the report period, mineral resources, aluminum and textiles have accounted for more than 40, 19 and 18 percent of the country’s exports respectively.  

Over the same period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 720 million U.S. dollars, which was 4.1 percent or 28.3 million U.S. dollars more than in January-March last year. 

In January-March, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 90 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the same three-month period, the major trading partners of Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia valued at 230 million US dollars over the report period), Kazakhstan (203 million U.S. dollars), China (118 million U.S. dollars) and Turkey (90 million U.S. dollars).
