Dushanbe will host Children’s Festival, dubbed “Mo Nasli Khoushbakhti Zamon” (We Are the Happy Generation of the Time).  More than 200 children from all regions of the country are expected to participate in the event, which is dedicated to International Child Protection Day.

According to the Dushanbe mayor’s office, the Dushanbe Administration has provided 68,050 somoni (equivalent to 7,200 U.S. dollars) for holding this festival.  

The purpose of the event is reportedly in fostering youth in the spirit of humanism and patriotism as well as respect for national values and culture.  

On May 29, the children will meet at four Dushanbe Gates, and an official opening ceremony of the Festival will take place at Dushanbe Children’s Park on May 30.

On May 31, the festival participants will write an essay on the theme “Dushanbe through My Eyes.”  They will also meet with Tajik poets Gulnazar Keldi and Adinbai Azizi.

Various sports activities will be held in the framework of the festival, an official source at the Dushanbe mayor’s office told Asia-Plus in an interview.

An official closing ceremony of the festival will take place at Dushanbe’s Amphitheater on June 1.  

International Child Protection Day is a day recognized to celebrate children. The day is celebrated on various dates in different countries.  In numerous countries, including Tajikistan, Children Protection Day is celebrated on June 1.
