President Emomali Rahmon yesterday evening visited Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), to express condolences to him over the death of his wife, a source at the Majlisi Milli told Asia-Plus today morning.  According to him, Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali accompanied President Emomali Rahmon.       

Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev’s wife Rouzigul Karimova died suddenly in Dushanbe yesterday morning.

Ubaidulloyev’s relatives say she did not have any serious health problems.  But on July 2, she reportedly had a massive heart attack.

At the time of the death of his wife, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was in Moscow where he participated in the 2nd International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism.”  He returned to Dushanbe yesterday evening. 

Janoza (a funeral service) took place at Dushanbe Central Mosque today morning and Rouzigul Karimova was buried in Dushanbe’s Sariosiyo Cemetery.    

Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev and Rouzigul Karimova have three children – two sons and one daughter.

Their eldest son – Jamoliddin Ubaidulloyev, 39 – serves as Tajikistan’s Ambassador to France and the Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to UNESCO.

Their younger son – Amirjon Ubaidullo, 37 – serves as a senior aide to the presidential adviser for economic matters.

According to Akhbor.com, their only daughter, Nigina Ubaidulloyeva, who is 30, and her husband have been living for already several years in the United States.
