Tajikistan’s first-ever bike festival that took place in the northern Sughd province on July 5-7 has been given the status of the First International Central Asian Bike Festival.
According to Foris Nourmuhamedov, the deputy head of the Irbis MCC Club, hundreds of bikers from Central Asia’s nations and other countries have arrived in Tajikistan for participation in the bike festival, dubbed Sogdiana 2019.
Organized by Tajik Bike Club Irbis MCC and NextView Company under support of the Sughd regional administration, the festival took place in the city of Guliston (formerly Qairoqqum), on the shore of Tajik Sea (the reservoir powering the Qairoqqum hydropower plant).
A bike parade that was held from the sanatorium of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) to the Ismoili Somoni Monument opened the festival.
A number of cultural and sports activities were carried out during the international bike festival in the Sughd province.
The musical program was provided by Monday Beat group of Temursho Immatshoyev, DJ Jova and other invited musicians.
“Monday Beat performed a composition of Aria group named Careless Angel, which is an unofficial anthem of bikers,” Nourmuhamedov said.
