Rescue units from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan to jointly practice disaster relief in Kyrgyzstan

Date:

Rescue units from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will jointly practice disaster relief.

According to the press center of the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, the first joint exercise for disaster relief units of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will be conducted in September in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken oblast.

Recall, Tajik and Kyrgyz disaster relief units conducted a joint exercise last year.  The exercise scenario was based on natural disaster striking the border area.

In Batken oblast, the search-and-rescue units of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will practice rehearse coordination and interaction in mitigating effects of natural and man-made disasters, Ms. Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
