Tajikistan steadfast supporter of further strengthening of fruitful relations between the CIS states, says Tajik leader

In a statement released at a session of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Ashgabat, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon noted on October 11 that Tajikistan is steadfast supporter of further strengthening of fruitful relations between the CIS states, which is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of the country, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Tajik leader reportedly said that the summit’s agenda covers actual subjects of partnership in different fields, making relative decisions, which would support improvement of the mechanisms of cooperation within the CIS.  

He also noted that integration of the sides had resulted in expansion of economic cooperation, intensification of joint struggle against modern challenges as well as expansion of humanitarian cooperation between the CIS member nations compared to the previous years.  

Tajik leader expressed confidence that decisions adopted at the summit would promote father expansion of effective cooperation between the sides in the mentioned directions.  

Emomali Rahmon noted that “processes of development of international situations are currently experiencing increase in the level of threats to global security.”

“Under such conditions, successful provision of common interests of the CIS member nations largely depends on further concerted actions,” Tajik head of state said, according to the Tajik president’s press service.  

He reportedly stated that consistent implementation of adopted decisions is of significant importance “and we should continue this in the future as well.”
