Tajik, Uzbek chief border officers meet at border crossing point to discuss cooperation

On Sunday November 10, Chief of the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Tajikistan, Rajabali Rahmonali, met with Commander of the Border Troops of the National Security Service of Uzbekistan, Ruslan Mirzayev, to discuss cooperation issues.

According to the Main Border Guard Directorate press center, the meeting was held at the “Dousti” border crossing point (BCP), the Tursunzoda stretch of Tajikistan’s common border with Uzbekistan.  

The two reportedly discussed issues related to further development of good neighborly relations and expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in guarding the mutual border.  

A special attention was given to cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime and trafficking in weapons and narcotic drugs.
