On Monday December 23, Khatlon governor Qurbonboy Hakimzoda received a delegation of Weinan, a prefecture-level city in China’s Shaanxi province.
Representatives of the Chinese delegation presented an intensive apple orchard project, according to the Khatlon administration press center.
It will be an experimental apple orchard and it will be laid out on an area of 30 hectares. The project also includes construction of a warehouse for storage of 2,000 ton of fruits, the center for training gardeners and provision of modern agricultural equipment.
Khatlon government reportedly noted that he would support the project.
Chinese specialists reportedly visited Khuroson and Danghara districts to explore the soil for the apple orchard.
