The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDPT), the Agrarian Party (APT) and the Party of Economic Reforms (PERT) can create their groups in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of new convocation.
Under Tajikistan’s election legislation, a political party must win at least five seats in order to create its group in parliament.
The Agrarian Party has won seven seats in the Majlisi Namoyandagon, including four seats won by the party list and three other seats won in sing-mandate constituencies.
In the previous Majlisi Namoyandagon, the APT had five seats.
The Party of Economic Reforms has secured five seats, including four seats won by the party list and one seat won in a single-mandate constituency.
In the previous Majlisi Namoyandagon, the PERT had three seats.
The ruling People’s Democratic Party has secured 47 seats in the 63-seat Majlisi Namoyandagon of new convocation.
In the previous Majlisi Namoyandagon, the PDPT had 51 seats.
