Joint meetings of members of local councils of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Khatlon and Sughd provinces, Dushanbe City and towns and districts subordinate to the center that took place on March 27 elected 25 of 33 members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament).

 

GBAO:  

1.         Mr. Yodgor Faizov, GBAO Governor;

2.         Mr. Farrukh Dodkhudo, Chairman of the Rushan District;

3.         Mr. Muso Mirzozoda, Chairman of the Ishkashim District;

4.         Mr. Saidburhon Abdurahmonzoda, Chairman of the Darvoz District;

5.         Ms. Shodigul Qonunzoda, Principal of Khorog-based Presidential Lyceum for Talented Children.

 

Sughd Province: 

1.         Mr. Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, Sughd Governor;

2.         Ms. Madina Rahmat, Principal of Buston-based Presidential Lyceum for Talented Children;

3.         Ms. Karima Hakimzoda, Head Physician, Hospital No 1 in Vorukh Jamoat, Isfara City

4.         Ms. Firouza Muminova, Chairperson of the Istaravshan Department for Women and Family Affairs;

5.         Mr. Murod Shukurzoda, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PPPT)’s Organization in Panjakent City.

 

Khatlon Province: 

1.         Mr. Qurbon Hakimzoda, Khatlon Governor;

2.         Ms. Dilbar Odilzoda, Principal of Kulob-based Presidential Lyceum for Talented Children

3.         Mr. Bozorali Nemat, Chairman of the Mir Said Ali Hamadoni District;

4.         Zarifkhouja Shohiyon, Acting Chairman of the Panj District. 

5.         Faiziddin Shoiddinov, Director of the Nurek Hydroelectric Power Plant named after T. Uljaboyev.

 

Dushanbe City:

1.         Mr. Rustam Emomali, Mayor of Dushanbe;

2.         Mr. Ilhom Amonzoda, Rector of Tajik Technical University;

3.         Mr. Mahmadsho Gulzoda, Rector of Tajik Medical University;

4.         Mr. Dilshod Rahmonzoda, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Tajik National University;

5.         Ms. Lola Odilbekova, Chairwoman of the Education Department in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni District.

  

 Towns and districts subordinate to the center:

1.         Ms. Farzona Khojazoda, Deputy Mayor of Vahdat Township;

2.         Mr. Rustam Akramzoda, Chairman of the Roudaki District;

3.         Mr. Sharifjon Jumazoda, Mayor of Hisor Township;

4.         Mr. Abduqodir Valizoda, Mayor of Tursunzoda City;

5.         Mr. Rahimjon Muqimi, Chairman of the Rasht District. 

 

Eight other members of the Majlisi Milli are appointed by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Citizens who reached 30 years of age and have higher education shall be eligible to be elected to the Majlisi Milli. 

The Majlisi Milli functions on a convocation basis.
