Uzbekistan toughens quarantine measures

The Uzbek authorities are toughening quarantine measures beginning on July 1, according to RIA Novosti

Residents of the regions with unfavorable coronavirus situation will be prohibited from gathering in public places in groups of more than three people.

Besides, prohibition on stay on the streets and in the yards of apartment buildings in these regions from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am is introduced, RIA Novosti says..  

In the indicated hours, people will be able to go to drugstores or hospitals for medical examination due to deteriorating health or pregnancy.   

Starting from July 1, all commodity markets and trading centers will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays for disinfection.  

Meanwhile, UzDaily.com says that according to data from Uzbekistan’s Health Ministry, 274 new officially confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Uzbekistan on Sunday, bringing a total number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 8,222 as of 11:00 pm of  June 29.

5,496 COVID-19 patients have reportedly recovered in Uzbekistan as of June 29.

24 coronavirus-linked deaths have been reported in the country as of 11:00 pm of July 29, according to UzDaiy.com.

As of June 29, 702 people have been under treatment, the condition of 19 of them is serious, 6 – extremely serious.

40,293 people are in quarantine at home, 23,485 in stationary ones, according UzDaily.com
