Expenditures on public management personnel reduced in Tajikistan.

Date:

Revenues of Tajikistan national budget for the first six months of this year have stood at 9.8 billion somoni which is 4.5 percent or 462.3 million somoni less than it was originally planned, according to the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

An official source at a MoF says they have failed to fulfill the revenue target for the reporting period due to shortfall in basic taxes: income tax; profit tax; and excise-duty.

“As a result, we failed to fulfill the expenditure part of the budget, and almost all sectors did not receive the planned funds,” the source noted.

However, the funding for the public management, industry, construction and other economic activities and service has been cut more than for other sectors.

Recall, the government had to revise revenues and expenditures of the national budget for 2020 in late June due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  The revenue part has been cut by 2.5 billion somoni – from 26.1 billion somoni to 23.6 billion somoni.  The expenditure part has been cut by 400 million somoni — from 26.4 billion somoni to 26 billion somoni.
