A senior officer from the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption under the President of Tajikistan has been detained on suspicion of a large-scale bribery.
The Center for Public Relations of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) says the anticorruption agency senor officer, Colonel Jonibek Mahmadzoda, was caught red-handed on August 17 while taking a big bribe.
The SCNS Center for Public Relations has refrained from giving further details of the case.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Jonibek Mahmadzoda; an investigation is under way.
