Taliban announces complete takeover of Panjshir, Afghanistan's last province not controlled by the Taliban, Meduza reports.

He held a press conference where he announced the end of the war in Afghanistan, reports Tolo News.

Afghan National Resistance Front, fighting against Taliban in Panjshir, denies total takeover of province.

A spokesman for this structure, Ali Nazari, told CNN that the resistance forces control several areas of the Panjshir Valley, and the fighters continue to fight.

«The people of Afghanistan can be confident that our resistance will continue until liberation and the triumph of justice», – he noted on his Facebook page.

As noted by Reuters, the leader of the resistance, the son of the famous Afghan warlord Ahmad Masood, did not comment on this.

On September 5, Massud called for an end to the fighting and said that his troops would lay down arms if the Taliban stopped attacking the province.

The Taliban first announced the capture of Panjshir on September 3. Then the forces of resistance denied it.
