Dushanbe "Istiklol" finished its performance in the AFC Champions League, losing on September 14 to Iranian "Persepolis" in the 1/8 finals with a score of 0:1.

The first half of the meeting was held with mutual attacks, but the teams failed to open an account.

In the second half of the meeting at the very last minute of regular time, Mehdi Torabi scored a goal – 0:1, reported by the press service of "Istiqlol".
