Ms. Saodat Homidova, personnel manager at the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Special Transport for Municipal Solid Waste in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour District, is suspected of taking bribe, the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption reported on February 21.

She reportedly demanded bribe from citizen “A” for falsifying a work book about the length of service.

Ms. Homidova was caught red-handed while taking money from citizen “A”, the anticorruption agency says.

Criminal proceedings have reportedly been instituted against Homidova under the provisions of Article 319 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – bribe taking; an investigation is under way.

If convicted, Ms. Homidova could face a fine in the amount equal to between 3,650 and 9,125 estimates (calculating indicators; the current calculating indicator in Tajikistan amounts to 64.00 somonis) or up to five years in prison.
