Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali, who is also Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), yesterday received the newly appointed Ambassador of China to Tajikistan, Mr. Ji Shumin.

The Dushanbe Administration press center says the parties discussed state and prospects of further expansion of economic and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and China.

They, in particular, discussed issues related to cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, tourism, health care, education and culture. 

Emomali and Ji reportedly also discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the executive bodies of Dushanbe and Beijing.  

They parties expressed interest in further expansion of trade and economic collaboration between Dushanbe and China.  

Rustam Emomali reportedly appreciated Chinese Embassy’s support provided during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

They also discussed a number of other issues being of mutual interest, the Dushanbe Administration press center says.
