Kazakhstan endorses its updated military doctrine

The Kazakh Defense Ministry’s press center reported on October 24 that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev approved the updated military doctrine of the country.

The document was reportedly drafted by the Ministry of Defense jointly with other power-wilding structures and relevant government agencies.  

The document reflects modern conditions and factors having impacts on military threats and security.

It is noted that the document includes new areas of activity in the military-political and military-strategic spheres.

To increase the combat potential of the country's Armed Forces, it is planned to develop special operations forces and expand their interaction with units of other government agencies.

The Defense Ministry stresses the military doctrine in new reduction allows adapting the government’s views of ensuring military security and defense to modern requirements and conditions as well as increases the country's military potential to adequately respond to new threats and risks.  

The doctrine highlights that Kazakhstan does not consider any of the states as an adversary.
