In the first six months of 2023, most cases of corruption were detected in banks, Sulaimon Sultonzoda, head of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Tajikistan, said at a press conference.

According to him, the list of the most corrupt is headed by banks – 142 corruption-related crimes have been recorded in state and commercial banks.

Also in this list are: city and district administrations – 123 crimes, structures of land management and registration of real estate – 107 crimes, education and science – 116 crimes, health and social protection – 70 crimes, etc.

In 2022, the first place was taken by the local authorities of cities and districts, the structures of education, healthcare, and land management.

Sultonzoda also said that in the first half of the year, the anti-corruption agency revealed 44 facts of joint activity of relatives in public positions.

"Basically, in the fields of healthcare and education, they are dismissed," Sulaimon Sultonzoda said.
