On Thursday September 14, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met her with his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and in a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).

The Tajik president’s official website says the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership between their countries as well as the agendas of the mentioned high-level meeting that are taking place in Dushanbe on September 14 and 15.  

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon and Tokayev, in particular, discussed trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan and possibilities to increase the bilateral trade between their countries.  

They reportedly also expressed satisfaction with fruitful ties between business communities of the two countries and results of the Tajikistan-Kazakhstan business forum that took place in the Tajik capital recently.  

During the meeting, Rahmon and Tokayev also exchanged views on a number of international and reginal issues being of mutual interest, the Tajik president’s official website noted.
