The International Trade Center (ITC) Office in Tajikistan says six dried fruits brands from Tajikistan, leading players in the Central Asian dried fruits industry, are participating in the four-day prestigious World Food exhibition, which is concluding on September 22.
In addition to Mevai Tilloi, Isfara Food, Oro Isfara, Subhi Vatan, Mevai Zarrin, all from Isfara, and Khatlon province dried fruits processors reportedly united under one umbrella brand “Lazzati Khatlon”. The Tajikistan delegation reportedly also consists of the International Association of Processors and Exporters of Agriproducts of Tajikistan.
ITC Tajikistan notes that participation in this fair has been made possible thanks to the Government of Switzerland through the ITC’s Trade Promotion East: Balkan States and Central Asia Program. Tajik local consulting companies – ACT Development Group and Business Consulting Group arranged all preparatory activities for participation of Tajik companies in this fair and guided them during the fair.
The event provides an excellent platform for the Tajik dried fruits processors to promote their products and capacity, discuss potential business collaborations, and explore emerging market trends on a regional scale.
Ardasher Ibragimov, Business Consulting Group Deputy Director and ITC TPE National Consultant, who heads the Tajik delegation at this fair, says: “The participation at the World Food Fair underlines ITC commitment to expand reach of Tajik dried fruits beyond the country’s borders. By showcasing the diverse range of high-quality products at this regional platform, the companies aim to attract potential international partners, distributors, and buyers, while fostering trade collaborations that will benefit Tajikistan.”
Organized annually, the World Food Moscow is renowned as one of the largest trade shows in the food industry. Celebrating its 32nd edition this autumn, the fair brings together exhibitors from around the globe, leading industry experts, and international buyers to exchange ideas, foster connections, and forge strategic partnerships.
Keen on promoting Tajikistan's tasty dried fruits, the Tajik stand has attracted numerous visitors experiencing the authentic flavors and unique gastronomic offerings.
On the margins of the fir, Tajik companies have also participated in insightful panel discussions, seminars, and business forums, engaging in fruitful conversations around the latest trends and developments in the industry. Through these interactions, they have gained valuable insights into market demands and emerging consumer preferences, enabling them to remain competitive and explore new avenues for growth.
The event has served as a stepping stone for these companies to strengthen their bond with the global food industry and establish themselves as significant players in the international market.
Participation in international trade fairs provides good opportunities for project beneficiary companies to be competitive in regional markets through the establishment of new business contacts, obtaining new information on the sector developments, and learning more about the global and regional market requirements. Such trade missions are also important for the export diversification.
ITC’s Trade Promotion East (TPE) is funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of the Swiss Confederation. Tajikistan is one of four countries, together with Uzbekistan, Albania, and Serbia, selected to be part of the TPE program. The project focuses on the competitiveness and sustainable export growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the dried fruits sector, as well as improving the capacities of business support organizations (BSOs) to provide quality services to SMEs.
Over the last 30 years, around 500 million USD have been allocated in the form of grants to the Government of Tajikistan and the Tajik population. Within its Cooperation program for Central Asia (2022-2025), Switzerland will focus on supporting economic, social, and democratic development, promoting an integrated and regional approach in the complex field of transboundary water management, strengthening economic ties, and promoting good governance.
