Kazakhstan sends government delegation to Afghanistan, provides humanitarian aid to the Afghan people

Kazakh President’s Special Envoy for International Cooperation Erzhan Kazykhan heading a government delegation paid a working visit to Afghanistan on October 17, Kazakhstan’s news agency Kazinform reports, citing Akorda press service.

Kazykhan reportedly held talks with representatives of the Taliban administration Abdul Ghani Baradar and Amir Khan Muttaki to discuss issues related to providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and restoring trade and economic ties.

He also noted that 5,000 tons of Kazakh wheat flour had been delivered to Afghanistan.

Kazykhan also conveyed Kazakhstan's proposal for providing Kazakhstan-made coronavirus vaccine QazVac to the Afghan side.

He also informed the Afghan side about steps taken by Kazakhstan jointly with United Nations agencies on further expansion of humanitarian supplies to the Afghan people, according to Kazinform.

The Afghan side reportedly expressed gratitude the humanitarian assistance provided and emphasized the significant contribution of Kazakhstan to international efforts to rebuild Afghanistan.
