A number of senior police officers have been replaced after President Emomali Rahmon sharply criticized chiefs of some regional, district and city law enforcement agencies of Khatlon province and senior representatives of the Interior Ministry’s Central Administration  for irresponsibility in their work. 

The 62-year-old Saidnakhsh Rahmonzoda was relieved of his post of Deputy Interior Minister in connection with transfer to another job.  He was appointed to head the Interior Ministry the motor vehicle fleet. 

Rahmonzoda had served as Deputy Interior Minister since 2000.  Prior to this he had served as head of the Interior Ministry Capital Construction for 12 years.   

By government’s regulation issued on February 2 the 47-year-old Colonel Ghairatsho Muborakshozoda, who had previous served as deputy chief of the GBAO Police Directorate, was appointed Deputy Interior Minister replacing Saidnakhsh Rahmonzoda. 

Colonel Muborakshozoda has served in the country’s internal affairs bodies since 1999.  He began his police service as an investigator at the Investigative Department of the GABO Police Directorate and rose to the position of deputy chief of the GBAO Police Directorate.   

Ghairatsho Muborakshozoda was born in Shugnan district of Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) in 1977.

In 1999, he graduated from the Academy of the Interior Ministry of the Republic of Tajikistan (Academy) with a degree in law.  In 2009, Muborakshzoda graduated from the Academy Faculty for Management Staff.
