DUSHANBE, March 18, 2009, Asia-Plus — Customs officers have seized some 3.3 kilograms of heroin at the Dushanbe airport, the Customs Service press service reported on March 17.
An inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Istanbul flight found heroin hidden in 758 buttons of 33 women’s gowns in a luggage belonging to Philippines national, Ms. Nolasko Melagros.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against her and an investigation is under way.
