On September 10, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia recommended that citizens of the republic refrain from traveling to this country.

“In view of the ongoing regime of enhanced control of the entry of foreign citizens across the state border at land and air checkpoints in Russia, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation recommends that citizens of the republic temporarily refrain from traveling to this country,” – the message says.

With the same wording, the Embassy recommends that citizens of the republic temporarily refrain from traveling to Belarus.

The diplomatic mission did not provide more detailed information.

This is not the first time that the diplomatic departments of the republic recommend to not to go to Russia. In April of this year, after the March terrorist attack at “Crocus City Hall” and the detention of Tajiks on suspicion of involvement in it, as well as widespread raids and inspections, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs temporarily refrained from traveling to Russia “by all means of transport”, unless it was necessary.

According to the results of inspections over the past few months, Russia has refused entry or deported thousands of Tajiks from the country.

The Ministry of Labor of Tajikistan, in particular, stated that over the past six months, more than 17 thousand Tajik citizens have been expelled from Russia.

Recall that on September 5, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry asked its citizens not to go to Russia.

Most migrants say that after the attack on “Crocus”, the pressure reached such a level that life and work in Russia became “unbearable”.
