Year after year, prices in the country are rising for almost everything, including school uniforms. We have already written about how much money is needed today to raise a student. And how much have prices changed compared to last year?
The difference in price is significant — almost one and a half times. Then, in an interview with Asia–Plus, one of the sellers said that the prices at the fair were only one or two somoni lower than at the market.
Another noted that it's the school uniform purchase season, so prices can't be low, but there are usually discounts in September: "merchants always make discounts on remaining school supplies at this time."
At Gulistoni Dushanbe last year, the cost of a school suit ranged from 250 to 400 somoni, a white shirt – from 60 to 100 somoni. This year, shirts here cost from 70 to 100 somoni, and two–piece and three–piece suits for boys and girls cost 350-450 somoni. Office prices have also risen.
So, if last year a 12–sheet notebook cost about 45 dirhams, then this year it cost 60 dirhams in almost all stores in the city.
