President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon departed for the State of Qatar on November 3 for an official visit to take part in the Second World Summit on Social Development, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Convening at the level of Heads of State or Government, the Second World Summit aims to address the gaps and recommit to the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development and the Programme of Action and its implementation and give momentum towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda

The summit will be held in Qatar’s capital, Doha, from November 4 to 6, 2025. The event will bring together world leaders, representatives of international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to discuss key issues such as poverty eradication, decent work, social inclusion, and sustainable development.

Following his visit to Qatar, Emomali Rahmon will travel to Washington, D.C., at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, to participate in the "Central Asia – U.S." (C5+1) leaders' summit scheduled for November 6.

The meeting, initiated by the White House, will be attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

The C5+1 format, as it is known, began in 2015 and has sought to strengthen economic and energy cooperation and regional security.
