The US Department of Homeland Security announced that under President Donald Trump, 2.5 million illegal immigrants have left the country. Of this number, 600,000 were deported in less than 365 days, while 1.9 million voluntarily left through self-deportation programs.

"In total, with deportations, over 2.5 million illegal immigrants have left the US," the department stated in a message posted on X.

The department emphasized that deportations are prioritized for those who have committed serious crimes.

"Illegal immigrants hear our call to leave now. They understand that if they do not do so voluntarily, we will find them, detain them, and their return to the US will be permanently barred," the Department of Homeland Security warned.

The report also encourages migrants to use a special app, which allows them to return home for free and receive a one-time assistance of $1,000 for relocation expenses.

The US president, who previously criticized the administration of his predecessor Joe Biden for "open borders" and an influx of criminals, has now promised to conduct the largest deportation operation in US history.
