QURGHON TEPPA, March 11, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A private printing house is expected to open in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province soon.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the director of the Khatlon regional publishing house, Matbaai Khatlon, Bobokhon Sharbatov, said that the private printing house meeting all modern requirements would be officially opened ahead of the Navrouz festival, which is marked on March 21.

“The new printing house will have all necessary conditions for printing newspapers and magazines,” said Sharbatov, “Three printing presses for totaling 30,000 US dollars have been purchased from China and the Czech Republic and the printing house will be able to print more than 12,000 copies of newspapers per hour.”

It is to be noted that because of lack of modern printers in the province, more than 34 regional newspapers have been published in Dushanbe in recent years.
