DUSHANBE, March 10, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik drug control authorities have acquainted visiting British experts with the present drug situation in Tajikistan.
A group of expert witnesses from British courts today visited head office of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe.
Tajik drug control authorities acquainted the British expert witnesses with the present drug situation in the country and the Central region as a whole as well as efforts taken by the government to combat drug trafficking, the DCA press service.
Expert witnesses are individuals whose qualifications and experience enable them to give opinions on legal cases within their specialist field. When providing evidence for the court, expert witnesses are independent of the case. An expert witness may present his/her expert opinion without having been a witness to any occurrence relating to the lawsuit or criminal case.
