Dushanbe mayor’s office, EBRD sing cooperation memorandum

, January 20, Asia-Plus – On Thursday January 19, Dushanbe Mayor, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, and Mr. Fernand Pillonel, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Resident Office in


Tajikistan


, signed a memorandum of cooperation on management of reprocessing of solid waste products.

Mr. Pillonel told journalists following the document-signing ceremony that the EBRD has provided US$3 million for implementation of this project including three stages.  “At the first stages (six months), ways of seeking solution to the problem of preprocessing and management of waste products in Dushanbe will be assessed as well as necessary equipment will be purchased,” Head of the EBRD Residence Office in

, according to him.  Mr. Pillonel also noted that the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation would also provide US$7 million for the implementation of this project.
