Agroinvestbonk’s branch in Kulob increases volumes of group loans

KULOB, April 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  —  Since the beginning of this year, the branch of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Agroinvestbonk in Kulob has provided 78,000 somoni in group loans of collective responsibility to 8 groups totaling 48 people, the head of Agroinvestbonk’s branch in Kulob Sayfiddin Qadamov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, a group of 6 to 12 persons may be associated with any kind of activity – gardening, small business, intention to purchase goods on a credit.  “Even if interests and needs of members of the group vary it is not obstacle in the way of providing the group loan,” said Qadamov, “These persons should know each other and answer for their partners.”

In 2008, Agroinvestbonk’s branch n Kulob provided 159,000 somoni in the group loans to 16 groups totaling 178 local residents and there were no any problems with repayment of the loans, Qadamov said. 

Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 61 other branches across the republic.
