DUSHANBE, September 8, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The 62-year-old Aleksandr Avganov, who has made walking trip from the Russian city of Ryazan to Dushanbe, has delivered Tajik National Flag to Tajikistan.

Ms. Nargis Nabiyeva, the chairperson of the sports department within the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affair, says a ceremony of handover of the flag will take place at Dousti Square in Dushanbe tomorrow on sidelines of celebrations to mark Tajikistan’s Independence Day.  Aleksandr Avganov will hand over the flag to representatives from the Dushanbe mayor’s office and Tajikistan’s National Olympic Committee (NOC), she said.

We will recall that Aleksandr Avganov dedicates his walking tour to the 65th anniversary of the Victory over Nazi Germany and the 19th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.  He went  to a walking trip from Ryazan to Dushanbe on April 1 this year and during the tour, he traveled to Shatsk, Penza, Syzran, Tolyatti, Samara, Buzuluk, Orenburg and Orsk in Russia, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Bishek in Kyrgyzstan, Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarqand in Uzbekistan.

Aleksandr Avganov got the city of Isfara in the Tajik northern Sughd province on July 2.  In Isfara, he held meetings with war veterans and representatives of the Russian cultural center.

Aleksandr Avganov is the son of the World War II veteran from Kulob Amirsho Avganov who accomplished 90 years.

From Dushanbe, Aleksandr Avganov, who now lives in Russia, plans to perform the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca.
