DUSHANBE, August 27, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik Minister of Culture Mirzoshorukh Asrori received Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Fan Xianrong on August 26.

State and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China in the field of culture were the focus of the meeting, the source at the Ministry of Culture (MoC) said.

In the course of the talks, Asrori briefed Fan on development of the cultural sector of Tajikistan, noting that two significant cultural facilities – the National Public Library named after Firdavsi and the National Museum of Tajikistan named after Behzod – are being constructed with help of Chinese specialists.

Fan, for his part, noted that the Chinese people welcome successes of friendly Tajikistan in the field of culture.  Tajikistan and China have ancient history and recognize cultural cooperation as one of priorities of bilateral relations between the two countries, Chinese diplomat said.

Asrori noted that participation of representatives of Tajikistan in the international exhibition, EXPO-2010, in Shanghai would be another evidence of expansion of cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and China, the source said.
