DUSHANBE, July 23, 2010, Asia-Plus — Top five Tajik universities have been determined.
Minister of Education Abdujabbor Rahmonov says universities have been assessed according to 42 criteria, including teaching staff, student numbers, scientific researches carried out in recent years, published works by teachers and students, sport facilities, medical facilities, and so forth.
Among the top five Tajik universities are Tajik National University (Dushanbe), Tajik State Medical University (Dushanbe), Tajik State Teachers’ Training University named after Sadriddin Ayni (Dushanbe), Tajik Agricultural University named after Shirinsho Shotemur (Dushanbe) and Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) in Dushanbe.
In all, thirteen universities are on the list and the Kulob State University is at the bottom of the list.
Besides, competition has been organized among 15 institutes. The Institute of Languages (Dushanbe), the Branch of Technological Institute in Khujand, the Institute of Business and Service (Dushanbe), Tajik National Conservatory (Dushanbe) and Tajik Islamic Instituted named after Imam Azam are among the top five Tajik institutes. The Branch of Tajik Institute of Economics in Khujand is at the bottom of the list.
