DUSHANBE, July 5, 2010, Asia-Plus — It is necessary to extend a two-year moratorium on inspection of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) because two years are not enough for strengthening of SMEs, Ms. Matluba Uljaboyeva, the chairperson of the National Association of Small and Medium Business of Tajikistan (NSAMB), said.
According to her, SMEs need little more respite from unfounded inspections. “The inspection moratorium does not concern the tax collection, you know,” said Ms. Uljaboyeva, “The question is of just temporary suspension of numerous inspections so that SME heads will have more time to modernize and expand their production and just normally manage their businesses.”
She added that the two-year inspection moratorium had significantly improved conditions for development of small and medium business in the country.
We will recall that by president’s decree of July 25, 2008 the two-year moratorium on inspection of subjects of small and medium business was introduced in Tajikistan.
The National Association of Small and Medium Business of Tajikistan is a non commercial business association representing the interests of entrepreneurs of Tajikistan since 1993. NASMB represents 51 member companies that employ approximately 2,000 people operating across nearly every business sector in Tajikistan.
