Dushanbe. June 17. “Asia – Plus” — Earlier this morning Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon departed from Dushanbe to Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. His official working visit will last for three days, President’s press service told the Asia-Plus.

According to the source, head of state is accompanied by his Advisor for International Issues Erkin Rahmatulloev, Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrohom Zarifi, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Farrukh Hamraliev, Minister of Energy and Industry Gul Sherali, head of the Tajik Stat Property Committee Davlatali Saidov, head of the Barqi Tojik State-Owned Power Company Abdullo Erov, rector of the Tajik National University Nuriddin Saidov and other officials.

In the course of his visit President Rahmon is scheduled to meet with senior officials of the district, visit Urumchi and Kashgar cities and take part in the work of a business forum of Tajik and Chinese businessmen and in a ceremony of signing of cooperation plan between Tajikistan and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region which provides for cooperation in such spheres as economy, energy, construction of roads and communications.
