Chargé d”Affaires Quast has also visited a series of institutions of the primary medical and sanitary network in Navobod jamoat with the goal to observe the ongoing polio immunization campaign, the US Embassy told the AP.

“Working jointly in the given campaign we have to be sure that every child is covered by vaccination and protected from poliomyelitis,” Chargé d”Affaires Quast stressed.

According to the source, 300 volunteers are involved in polio vaccination campaign in Hissar region. Volunteers organize home visits and disseminate information about poliomyelitis and provide assistance to ministry of health to monitor the implementation of the campaign.

According to the source, the activity was organized by Mercy Corps in the frameworks of USAID-funded “Mother and Child Health” program in order to monitor the immunization process, improve coverage of the population and prevent further expansion of the disease.
