DUSHANBE. June 1. “Asia-Plus” — At least 925 wagons loaded with cargoes for Khatlon area of Tajikistan remain blocked on the territory of neighboring Uzbekistan, Deputy Chief of the Transportation Department of the Tajik Railroad Andrey Tropin told the AP.
According to him, the situation with transit of rail cargoes through the territory of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan, especially to Khatlon area, remains unchanged.
“During the period from March 8 to May 31 Uzbekistan passed only 328 cargo wagons to Tajikistan. Currently 531 wagons with fuel, 37 wagons with bitumen, 98 wagons with liquid gas, 49 wagons with flour, 12 wagons with cement and 83 wagons with various cargoes remain blocked in Uzbekistan,” he said.
In his earlier interview Tropin said that Uzbekistan also blocked nearly 100 wagons loaded with energy related cargoes provided for Afghanistan.
