Final round of competition among folk theatres dedicated to Victory Day takes place on May 7

DUSHANBE, April 22, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A final round of the republican competition among folk theatres, entitled “Defenders of the Motherland,” will take place at the State Youth Theatre named after Mahmoudjon Vohidov in Dushanbe on May 7, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).

The regional rounds of competition that is dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 194-1945 were held from April 5 to April 18 and the Yovon folk theatre won the regional round in Khatlon province, the Ghonchi folk theatre was recognized the best among folk theatres in Sughd province, the Ishkashim folk theatre won the regional round in Gorno Badakhshan and the Tavildara folk theatre is the winner of the regional round among folk theatres from districts subordinate to the center.

The goal of the competition is in developing patriotic education and promoting strengthening of peace and stability and unity of Tajikistan, the source said.
