DUSHANBE, April 20, 2010, Asia-Plus — Presentation of the competition “Tajikistan-Russia: Historical Roots of Friendship and Cooperation, Glance at the Future” will take place in Dushanbe on April 21.
Reporters from Tajik news agencies and independent journalists the covering process of development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia may take part in the competition, which is organized by the representative office of the Institute for Eurasian Studies Development Foundation in Tajikistan.
The goal of the competition is to promote restoration of traditionally high level of cooperation between the peoples of the two countries under the new conditions and draw attention of the public to the process of the Tajik-Russian cooperation, historical experience of the peoples of Tajikistan ad Russia, relationships between the peoples and role of these relations in forming and strengthening statehood, economic, social, political and cultural processes in both countries, the source at the representative office of the Institute for Eurasian Studies Development Foundation in Tajikistan said.
According to him, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Yuri Popov, the Institute for Eurasian Studies Development Foundation President Valery Turusunov, Tajik MFA information department head Davlat Nazriyev, Tajik Journalists’ Union head Akbarali Sattorov as well as representatives from media and NGOs will attend the contest-presentation ceremony.
Established in May 2005, the Institute for Eurasian Studies Development Foundation opened its first representative office in Tajikistan. It was opened in Khujand, Sughd province in June 2009. Today, the Foundation affiliates operate in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan and Abkhazia as well.
