DUSHANBE, April 19, 2010, Asia-Plus — Over the first three months of this year, the Customs Committee under the Government of Tajikistan has transferred 358.4 million somoni to the country’s budget, which is 80.7 percent of the target for January-March 2010, Nemat Rahmatov, the deputy chief of the Customs Committee, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 19.
According to him, 1,377 customs infringements, including 12 drug-trafficking attempts, have been registered in the country over the report period. Customs officers have seized 35.7 kilograms of narcotics in January-March 2010.
1,363 cases of administrative wrongdoing for a total amount of more than 417,000 somoni have been revealed over the same three-month period and 355,800 somoni of that amount have been reimbursed to this day, Rahmatov said.
