Tajikistan produces more than 1.7 bln somoni worth of industrial goods in Q110

DUSHANBE, April 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — In January-March 2010, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 1.7 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 400 million U.S. dollar) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Compared to January-March 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 116.3 percent.

Over the first three months of this year, 387 enterprises (47.3 percent) exceeded the January-March 2009 production level.  In the meantime, 257 enterprises, or 31.4 percent of the overall number (819), were not in operation.

Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 494.8 million worth of goods over the same three-month period, which is 44.2 percent more than in the same period last year.

Enterprises that are not subject to a MoE have produced 719.3 million worth of goods over the report period, which is 12.9 percent more than in January-March 2009.
